Your Life – An Inside Job with Kimberley Hare
This fascinating session lead by Kimberley Hare was centred around how we create our worlds through our thoughts. Thoughts we can just let pass by or dwell on them. Kimberley likened it to being in a Sushi bar with a ‘manky’ food dish (your negative thoughts) coming towards you and you selecting it an eating it and not enjoying it. The alternative to doing this is it to notice it ( the thought/ manky sushi) and let it pass by and wait for another freshly prepared Sushi dish ( your fresher and potentially more resourceful thoughts) to come towards you on the carousel for you to select and enjoy.
Our thoughts affect our feelings, and our feelings affect our behaviour. Kim encouraged us to take charge and choose which thoughts we take notice of that pop into our heads and also choose to act or not act on them. It was fascinating and stimulating debate with some practical exercises to demonstrate that when we manage our thoughts our fears of something diminish.
