We know this as a fact that short bursts of stress can have a positive effect on performance, prolonged stress is harmful and can cause burnout.  In our increasingly busy and information overloaded lives, We clearly need to avoid burn out at all costs.

In this workshop Susanne will facilitate discussions about the psychology behind stress and what we can do in a very practical sense to avoid chronic stress and burnout.

Some of the takeaways include ways to identify positive stress and learning to recognise the warning signs of negative stress and have strategies on how to deal with this before it takes hold.

As with all Aspiring Women events you will have the opportunity to share experiences and your story with each other in a safe and supportive environment so we can all grow, increase our self-awareness and go away with new useful insights into how we can manage ourselves better.

Susanne Madsen

As an experienced manager of change programs, Susanne has first-hand experience of what the negative effects of a demanding career can be.

As a result of working in a high-pressure environment for several years, Susanne’s body became infested with stress to the point where she could barely walk. She was forced to slow down and make some important changes in her work and life.

She learnt to set boundaries and leave work behind when she left the office. She also got better at delegating, asking for help and began to focus on activities outside of work that fuelled her energy.

Today, Susanne works as a corporate and executive coach helping others overcome their challenges and achieve the kind of personal and professional satisfaction they dream of.

Come and join us – we’d love to meet you. The event starts at 5.30pm, with drinks and a light buffet and the more ‘formal’ part starts around 6.30pm and ends at 8pm.

Please note that the booking fee covers the cost of organising the event which includes light refreshments, plus a small donation to The Girls Network a charity that supports school  girls by matching them with professional women mentors.

Payment on the door:  Many times we need to ensure that we have numbers of attendees and names before the event begins (for catering / training / location security).  In exceptional circumstances we may accept payment on the door, but this is by prior arrangement and agreement only!
 
Cancellation/refunds: we completely understand how sometimes things come up at the last minute!  Although we will do our best to accommodate your inability to attend after booking/payment, we ask that you please let us know as soon as possible either by email or phone (we always provide a phone number in the joining instructions sent on the day).  However, please bear in mind that refunds can only be made if you cancel before the day of the event:
  • Before the day: refund or payment put towards future event
  • On the day: payment put towards future event
  • No show without notice: no refunds or future event reservation – you lose your money – sorry!
