Meet your session leader: Sam Fraser

Sam Fraser started her working life as a teacher.  She went on to run a successful theatre school franchise while also working as a freelance writer. In 2004, Sam joined BBC Radio Solent as a travel presenter and elbowed her way, via various radio presenting jobs, into the TV weather team at BBC South.

In 2017, she began performing comedy and took her show, ‘Stand Up, Weather Girl!’ to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018. The show explores the conflict between her feminist principles and the fetishised role of the weather girl and is now the subject of a book: ‘Scorchio! Surviving a Stereotype’ recently acquired by the publisher, Unbound.
