Perfectionism and People Pleasing
Many of us are constantly striving for perfection or feeling the need to please others, both at work and in our personal lives.
These tendencies can often leave us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and disconnected from the life we truly want to lead.
This workshop will introduce you to the psychological processes that underlie these common behaviours and introduce you to some practical techniques that will help you to navigate challenge and change more flexibly and effectively.
At this session you will learn to:
# Understand what perfectionism and people pleasing have in common and why many of us have a tendency towards both
# Reflect on where perfectionism and people pleasing show up in your life – when do these behaviours work for well for you, and when do they work against what you truly want?
# Explore the concept of ‘psychological flexibility’ – a set of skills that will help you navigate situations where perfectionism and people pleasing might not be giving you the outcomes you want
# Work together to reflect on where your newfound understanding and practical skills could be incorporated into specific areas of your life
