Re-energising Your Resilience

Re-energising Your Resilience

20 May 2014

One of the greatest benefits of attending this session was being able to share knowledge and experiences with 28 other women. We all came up with 26 top tips for re-energising resilience which we have compiled here:

Top Tips for Building Resilience by Aspire Circles Dorset Group 20 May 2014

  1. Find support from others e.g. mentor or sponsors
  2. Slow down and think – use clarity and focus
  3. Chunk things down – set small achievable goals and move in ‘baby steps’
  4. Just do it
  5. Put and keep things in perspective
  6. Self-belief
  7. Get clear on your priorities, direction and goals
  8. Care less about what others think
  9. Be honest with yourself about what you want
  10. Wine and sharing with others who are being supportive
  11. Change your environment
  12. Find a positive in everything
  13. Make a mistake everyday – you learn more
  14. Save your energy for what matters
  15. Look after yourself: time to exercise and healthy eating
  16. Sufficient rest/sleep/quiet time/stillness i.e. rejuvenating activities
  17. Identify and tackle the root of the challenge
  18. Know what is motivating you – identify your emotional attachment
  19. Lists to organise your work/life
  20. List all negative issues in your life – then burn it and let it go. You can’t change anything that has already happened
  21. Being more positive – focus on what you want and not what you don’t want. Looking at the positive in everything
  22. Be purposeful- be in the present
  23. Visualise a positive outcome
  24. Step out and ask who you can brainstorm ideas with and get a different perspective
  25. Know what methods work for you
  26. Use circles of control/influence to get some perspective and identify actions.

From the event:

My whole career has been focused on supporting people to be the best they can be benefiting not only themselves, but also the organisations they work for, or with, and their families and friends

During my thirty years in learning and development, leadership and coaching I have worked in and with private, public, higher education and not-for-profit sectors.  I feel very grateful and lucky to work with some amazing and inspirational people and organisations. I established my own leadership development and executive coaching business, SUCCESSMITH, in 2012. I continue to enjoy working with a variety of organisations and individuals to support and co-create transformational change.

My passion is supporting people to understand what success means to them and go for what they really want out of life. I specialise in coaching and facilitating the development of leaders in organisations, departments, and teams. I also work on a one-to-one basis with private individuals.

I particularly enjoy supporting all genders, and particularly women, to define and achieve their ‘life purpose’ by overcoming tangible or imagined obstacles.

I feel very privileged that through SUCCESSMITH and through my work with the Aspiring Women Groups, I am able to support others by ‘being the spark that lights the flame for transformational change’, and this is what makes me smile and gives me a reason to get out of bed in the mornings!
