Building Resilience and Confidence Through Self-Awareness

17 October 2017

Jo Kane took use through an evening of understanding the nature of resilience. Here’s the pre-event information:

We have all heard about resilience and know how important it is to foster it and every year more and more organisations are investing in this area to build the resilience of their people and especially their leaders. However there’s a common notion that resilience is all about ‘bounce back’ and whilst it is crucial now more than ever to be able to ‘recover’ from setbacks , it’s powerful to be able to put yourself in the driving seat and build your personal resilience so that you can access peak performance states and create success that’s sustainable and sustains you. There’s so much more to resilience than ‘toughing it out’ and cultivating the right mindset. To be a resilience superstar you need to adopt a more holistic approach that includes mind , body , spirit and emotion. When you can strengthen across all those domains then real transformation occurs.

This session will give you the chance to explore  these four domains and gain some insight into where you could benefit from some focus and development. You will be introduced to some leading edge tools that will help you become a resilience superstar yourself and enjoy the sort of success that fuels you as opposed to drains you. These are techniques that can take you from breakdown to breakthrough. That’s the hallmark of the transformative resilience.

Responding With Style and Flair – How to Answer ANY Question!

18 July 2017

Lex McKee – the original ‘entertrainer’ – gave us a masterclass in how to never be stuck for words, using techniques shown to celebrities and politicians the world over.

Before the event, Lex told us:

Being put on the spot and feeling awkward is not high on many people’s list of favourite situations. But what if you could get to the point where you had the confidence to answer any challenge – and I do mean ‘any’ challenge? Using the techniques used by politicians, broadcasters, and celebrities the world over, we’re going to share how to think quickly on-the-spot so that you can express your viewpoint clearly, concisely, and convincingly without fear of embarrassment! In fact, I’m confident that you’ll actually look forward to the next time when you’ll be put on the spot!

From the event:

‘I thought the style exercise was excellent’

‘I am leaving inspired, motivated and knowing lots of new faces!’

‘Fab evening, lovely company, looking forward to applying it!’

If you want to learn anything faster, Lex is an interesting chap to talk to, having taught applications of Accelerated Learning since 1985. Whilst secretly chuffed that his book, “The Accelerated Trainer,” was published by Gower, he’s actually more excited by the fact that he can teach you to touch type in two hours, using chocolate as part of the technique. From Speed Reading to Mind Mapping, Leadership to Quick Thinking On-The-Spot, Lex’s infectious humour and love for learning with others has taken him all around the World. The truth, though, is he’d rather be nowhere else than sharing with like-minded entrepreneurial thinkers in Dorset! Author, Producer, Photographer, Poet, and Presenter – creativity is what makes his day.

Creating Heart-Led Goals

Creating Heart-Led Goals

24 January 2017

We got 2017 off to a great start with this session, where Marie helped us create goals that tap into our emotional well-being.

Creating our goals (both work and home-related) to lead a holistic and well-balanced life are usually head-led (using logic), rather than heart-led (using emotion). This event supported us to explore ways of tapping into our emotions and use these to create powerful, compelling goals.

From the event:

Marie Smith

My whole career has been focused on supporting people to be the best they can be benefiting not only themselves, but also the organisations they work for, or with, and their families and friends

During my thirty years in learning and development, leadership and coaching I have worked in and with private, public, higher education and not-for-profit sectors.  I feel very grateful and lucky to work with some amazing and inspirational people and organisations. I established my own leadership development and executive coaching business, SUCCESSMITH, in 2012. I continue to enjoy working with a variety of organisations and individuals to support and co-create transformational change.

My passion is supporting people to understand what success means to them and go for what they really want out of life. I specialise in coaching and facilitating the development of leaders in organisations, departments, and teams. I also work on a one-to-one basis with private individuals.

I particularly enjoy supporting all genders, and particularly women, to define and achieve their ‘life purpose’ by overcoming tangible or imagined obstacles.

I feel very privileged that through SUCCESSMITH and through my work with the Aspiring Women Groups, I am able to support others by ‘being the spark that lights the flame for transformational change’, and this is what makes me smile and gives me a reason to get out of bed in the mornings!
