Negotiate Like a Woman: Why Traditional Negotiation Advice Fails Women, and What Works Instead
Most negotiation advice assumes a level playing field. It isn’t.
Research shows women face systematic barriers that men don’t; they’re far more likely to experience backlash when they behave assertively, especially when asking for money.
In this session, you’ll learn the evidence-based strategies that account for these realities, so you can negotiate effectively, and secure your true worth, without risking relationships.
You’ll leave with practical frameworks you can use immediately, whether you’re negotiating salary, client rates, the scope of your role, or simply who is going to cook supper or pick up the kids!
Knowing your worth means nothing if you can’t negotiate for it!

– evidence-based strategies that work for women

Lucy helps professional women negotiate what they’re worth through Negotiate Like a Woman – an evidence-based masterclass programme that combines research, peer learning, and practical strategy. With 15 years’ experience negotiating as an employee and leader at organisations like Barclays and Oliver Wyman, and 10 years as a tech startup co-founder, she knows firsthand why traditional negotiation advice fails women, and what actually works.

Our events are held bi-monthly and last up to 60 minutes.
All events start at 7.30pm. We ask you to come along at 7.25pm for quick ‘hellos’ before we start!
We do record events with the permission of the speaker for our full members and anyone registered but unable to make it on the night. Please note that a recording is not guaranteed and is at the sole discretion of the speaker.
This event is £15 for Pay As You Go (PAYG) and free for Full Members.
It is free to £8 per month or £80 per year for Full membership.
Your booking or membership fee covers the costs of running the event (website maintenance and updating, online meeting software etc.), a donation to The Girls’ Network and a small organiser fee to Aspiring Women.
