Creating and Making 2018 Your Best Year Yet!

16 January 2018

We were SOLD OUT for the first event of 2018! What a fab evening, with lots of new faces – here’s the pre-event info and your feedback from the event:

Kicking off our Aspiring Women year in magnificent style, Marie Smith will lead us through an evening of (amongst other things) creating our personal Vision Board for 2018.

Are there questions flicking through your mind such as:

Am I curious to explore this? What could this possibly entail?  Is this for me?

Whether you either plan your life in detail or weave your way through life taking opportunities as they crop up, then this event is equally for you.

If you have created a Vision board before or you have never done one (or not even heard of one!) then come along and join in the fun –  there will be something for everyone to explore, learn and develop.

On the evening of 16 Jan Marie will lead you through practical exercises to explore and visualise your conscious and unconscious intentions for 2018 and beyond.  The outputs will be visual and you will have a personal take away on the evening that will either consciously or subconsciously guide you through decision making and creating the year/life you want.

This is a fabulous opportunity to give ourselves space and time to get our minds focussed on what we want to achieve in the year ahead.  For those who came to our session last year, it will create some time to reflect on how the Vision Boards have manifested themselves and shaped our previous year.  You can build on this going forwards or creating a new vision for yourself

This event is one of the most popular we offer (there are some charging huge sums for this sort of workshop now!), so book early to make sure you get a space!  Why not bring a friend, partner or team members to create a shared intention and vision for your future?

From the event:

“Love this event, well-timed for the beginning of the year.”

“Enjoyable evening. Would have loved longer as it went so quickly. Looking forward to seeing what happens now! Fingers crossed for a fab 2018! Thank you!”

Authentic and Connected: the brighter side of public speaking

Authentic and Connected: the brighter side of public speaking

Authentic and Connected: the brighter side of public speaking with Millie Baker

Millie very skilfully, authentically and calmly demonstrated ways to stop wasting our time and energy by fearing public speaking. We played with techniques to deal with the pressure we often feel  making us want to hide behind a mask of what we imagine will be acceptable, liked or respected. Over a number of practical exercises and learning from each other, we built our confidence by listening more carefully to our body, and being more awareness of our physical and emotional state. It’s fair to say we all were pleasantly surprised by the results and we had lots to take away and reflect on.

From the event:

“This surpassed all my expectations. I learned a lot with a very friendly group  of women.  I loved the evening and would recommend it to anyone.”

” Very practical and enjoyable. I could really ‘feel’ the topic”

Really fantastic session. Great mix of exercises and information”

“Love the networking opportunity . Inspiring ladies and excellent topics”

Building Resilience and Confidence Through Self-Awareness

Building Resilience and Confidence Through Self-Awareness

17 October 2017

Jo Kane took use through an evening of understanding the nature of resilience. Here’s the pre-event information:

We have all heard about resilience and know how important it is to foster it and every year more and more organisations are investing in this area to build the resilience of their people and especially their leaders. However there’s a common notion that resilience is all about ‘bounce back’ and whilst it is crucial now more than ever to be able to ‘recover’ from setbacks , it’s powerful to be able to put yourself in the driving seat and build your personal resilience so that you can access peak performance states and create success that’s sustainable and sustains you. There’s so much more to resilience than ‘toughing it out’ and cultivating the right mindset. To be a resilience superstar you need to adopt a more holistic approach that includes mind , body , spirit and emotion. When you can strengthen across all those domains then real transformation occurs.

This session will give you the chance to explore  these four domains and gain some insight into where you could benefit from some focus and development. You will be introduced to some leading edge tools that will help you become a resilience superstar yourself and enjoy the sort of success that fuels you as opposed to drains you. These are techniques that can take you from breakdown to breakthrough. That’s the hallmark of the transformative resilience.

From the event:

“Great event and speaker. Feel very inspired!”

“Really enjoyed this. Great presentation. Very useful.”

“It was a very valuable session, made me think about resilience from a different point of view.”

“Jo Kane was fab – so engaging and easy to connect with – good balance of sharing expertise and getting you to think.”

“Really good event – I am leaving feeling more confident and excited about what I can achieve.”

“Useful questions and coaching got me thinking. A lot covered.”

“Hearing inspirational stories from other women is incredibly energising for me right now.”

“Great hints and tips I can easily adapt to my life. Jo is really easy to listen to, thoroughly enjoyed the session! Thank you.”

Responding With Style and Flair – How to Answer ANY Question!

18 July 2017

Lex McKee – the original ‘entertrainer’ – gave us a masterclass in how to never be stuck for words, using techniques shown to celebrities and politicians the world over.

Before the event, Lex told us:

Being put on the spot and feeling awkward is not high on many people’s list of favourite situations. But what if you could get to the point where you had the confidence to answer any challenge – and I do mean ‘any’ challenge? Using the techniques used by politicians, broadcasters, and celebrities the world over, we’re going to share how to think quickly on-the-spot so that you can express your viewpoint clearly, concisely, and convincingly without fear of embarrassment! In fact, I’m confident that you’ll actually look forward to the next time when you’ll be put on the spot!

From the event:

‘I thought the style exercise was excellent’

‘I am leaving inspired, motivated and knowing lots of new faces!’

‘Fab evening, lovely company, looking forward to applying it!’

‘It was really interesting and fun to come to!’

If you want to learn anything faster, Lex is an interesting chap to talk to, having taught applications of Accelerated Learning since 1985. Whilst secretly chuffed that his book, “The Accelerated Trainer,” was published by Gower, he’s actually more excited by the fact that he can teach you to touch type in two hours, using chocolate as part of the technique. From Speed Reading to Mind Mapping, Leadership to Quick Thinking On-The-Spot, Lex’s infectious humour and love for learning with others has taken him all around the World. The truth, though, is he’d rather be nowhere else than sharing with like-minded entrepreneurial thinkers in Dorset! Author, Producer, Photographer, Poet, and Presenter – creativity is what makes his day.

Putting Your Best Self Forward

Putting Your Best Self Forward When You Want To Take Action & Enhance Your Career

11 July 2017

This interactive event was applicable to anyone – job seekers, those seeking promotion and recognition as well as the self-employed alike.

Career & Interview Coach, Margaret Buj used anecdotes from her own life and shared how to:

  • Optimise your LinkedIn profile to highlight your talents and put your best self forward
  • Identify and communicate your unique selling points
  • Sell yourself successfully as the best person in your current field or position within your own company, or for a new role in a new company or internal promotion in your current organisation

Unfortunately after the event, the weather was very un-July-like, hence Marie and Katy providing a pic of the ‘drowned rats’ arriving at the train station!

A copy of Margaret’s slides will be available soon in the Resources area of this website.

From the event:

“Very practical tips on making your CV and LinkedIn profile stand out and negotiating the salary you want”

“Really lovely to have access to someone of Margaret’s experience and expertise”

“I felt motivated to update my Linked-In profile – and felt a bit more optimistic about its usefulness.”
